Purpose & Programs

The Crime Prevention Unit was established in 1996. The purpose of the Crime Prevention Unit is to educate the community on various topics related to public safety and preventing crime and is administered via the Community Outreach Program (COP). The Crime Prevention Unit conducts a variety of programs including:

  • Babysitting classes
  • Drug awareness
  • Neighborhood crime awareness
  • Personal safety
  • Senior safety
  • Youth safety

The Community Outreach officer will make every effort to address any issue that arises within the community.
