The 39th District Court Probation Department is responsible for the supervision of offenders placed on probation at sentencing, conducting of pre-sentence investigations, substance abuse screenings and testifying in court on probation violations among providing other services. While under the supervision of the Probation Department, the misdemeanor offenders are responsible for complying with the conditions imposed by the Court by following through with referrals to the appropriate educational programs or treatment facilities as necessary. Every effort is made by Probation Officers to assist offenders in complying with the conditions set forth by the Court. If offenders fail to comply with conditions, the offenders are returned to Court for a violation hearing. A violation of probation can result in any number of sanctions including incarceration. The department uses a variety of programs, both county-operated and privately owned to guide clients through the probationary period.

The Probation Department hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Report days for probationers are on the first, second, third and fourth Mondays each month. Probationers are NOT seen on the fifth Monday of a month. Reporting hours are from 8:00 am to 11:00 am and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on the assigned Monday. Reporting instructions have changed, please be aware of this. If you are on probation you will report on Mondays determined by the following: Last names starting with Letters A-D will report on the 1st Monday. Letters E-K, the 2nd Monday. Letters L-Q the 3rd Monday. Letters R-Z the 4th Monday. If you have missed your scheduled report, you WILL NOT be seen on any other day than your scheduled report day and time and may be subject to additional costs and/or a violation.

Missed drug screens will be addressed on your report date only.

Preliminary Breath Tests (PBT) are available for a $5.00 fee Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 11:00 am or 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the Probation Department. Individuals can pre-pay for PBT at $3 per test in increments of five tests.
