Meet the Staff: Fall Programs

Justin Logan: This is his fourth summer with Fraser Parks and Recreation. He currently attends Macomb Community College perusing a degree in Finance. During his downtime he enjoys practicing and performing card tricks. He is the pitching coach for the Fraser Varsity Baseball Team. His favorite part of coaching is watching the kids’ faces brighten up when they learn new skills.

Casey Spencer: Casey has been a coach at Fraser Parks and Recreation for four years now. She will be a Sophomore at Macomb Community College where she is a member of the Woman’s Softball Team. After her completion at Macomb, she will attend Wayne State University’s Law Program in pursuit of becoming an Attorney. Casey’s favorite part about the program is teaching the kids that they are all capable of becoming athletes and working as a team, as well as teaching the female athletes that they are just as good of athletes as the boys are!

Ben Hagen: Ben has been on staff here for 3 years now. He coaches/supervises Little Sluggers/Kickers, coaches Playground Program, and also is the Scorekeeper for the Adult Leagues. He keeps himself busy by finding new jobs and hanging out with friends. He thrives on being a team player and finding ways to help others achieve their goals. Ben is going into his sophomore year at Macomb Community College and throughout his high school years he was a four sport athlete. He plans to transfer out of Macomb in the fall of 2018 and major in wildlife biology. Ben is also an Eagle Scout and loves adventure!

Paul Baur: This is Paul’s second year with Fraser Parks and Recreation. He has played baseball his whole life as well as basketball and football. He loves to see the kids grow not only as athletes but also individuals. He is a recent graduate of Fraser High School and will be attending Albion College to play baseball and pursue a degree in business in the fall.

Kelly Shock: Kelly has been with Fraser Parks and Recreation for the past two years. She was a 3 sport athlete for most of her life and throughout high school. As a graduate of Fraser High School she will continue her passion for sports and coaching with us. She also coaches the Richards Middle School 7th grade Volleyball Team. Kelly is furthering her education at Macomb Community College to become a primary school teacher and aspires to finish her education at Michigan State University. She loves the programs here and can’t wait to have a fun filled summer!

LeAnna Garbula: LeAnna has been a coach at Fraser Parks & Recreation for 2 years now. Her favorite part about it is helping kids learn and seeing them grow and have fun. She loves all sports and is going to Albion College to pursue her love of Softball. She has played many sports, all starting here at Fraser Parks and Recreation.

Emma M. Eckenrode: Emma has worked with us for Two years now. She is currently a junior at Oakland University majoring in Health Science. Her favorite part about working at the Recreation Department is watching the kids grow over the summer in regards of learning sports and creating new friendships. When she is not working with us she works at Beaumont Health in the dietary department.

Nick Vodak: Nick is currently attending Fraser High School. He plays varsity baseball, federation baseball and also coaches a federation team. His favorite coaching experience includes being able to teach kids the game that interests them and he loves to see their joy for the sport. When he was a young kid he played and participated in this program and He really loved it. He is excited to give this opportunity to the kids of today.

Brad Ouimet: Brad has been a coach at Fraser Parks and Recreation for 5 years now. As a child he enjoyed many of the programs that parks and Rec had to offer. In high school he played football, basketball and also ran track. Brad is in his last year at Macomb Community College and will transfer to Walsh College to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. He also volunteers his time to help raise Leader Dog’s for the Blind.

Catherine Glaser: Catherine is a 2017 Fraser High School graduate and will be off to Michigan State University in the fall. While at Fraser she played tennis for four years. This is her first year coaching with Fraser Parks and Recreation. She looks forward to coaching children this summer and having lots of fun!

Rachel Kloski: Rachel has been a part of Fraser Parks and Rec since 2013 and loves every second of it! She is a member of the Wayne State Track and Field Team and loves everything about athletics. When she isn’t running or coaching she is going to class to complete her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology with a focus in exercise and sport science.

David Hagen: This is David’s first year at Fraser Parks and Rec. He is very excited to be a part of the Fraser program. He is going into his senior year of high school at Lutheran High Northwest in Rochester Hills. He is involved in many teams at his high school. He enjoys playing sports and hanging out with his brother when he has free time.

Sebastian Tavalieri: Sebastian has been playing sports for over 15 years and started right here at Fraser Parks and Rec! He has played basketball, baseball, hockey, football and soccer. He is currently attending Macomb Community College. Sebastian is recognized as an assistant coach with Fraser High School’s 9th grade basketball team. He has fond childhood memories of spending many summers with friends here at Fraser Parks and Rec and views his past coaches as role models.

Orande Roy: Orande has been working at Fraser Parks and Rec for 5 years now. He has coached a variety of activities spanning from dodgeball, floor hockey, soccer, football, etc. He loves interacting with the kids and making something special out of their day. He played football most of his life and is the reason he thinks it is important to keep kids active and involved in sporting activities. He also works at ATI Physical Therapy.

Gladys Oster: This is Gladys Oster’s first year working for the Fraser Parks and Recreation summer programs. She has played a sport every season since she was 7, so she has a passion for helping others stay active and band as a team. One of her favorite memories from Fraser Recreation was when she scored the winning touchdown for her flag football team. When she is not working, or playing sports, Gladys enjoys exploring Metro Detroit with her 5 siblings.

Hannah Brannon: Hannah is going into her senior year at Fraser High School. She started playing soccer at 4 years old and has held interest in the sport since. Hannah is so excited to work with the kids this summer. She wants them to find new friends and an interest in the sport they choose. She can’t wait to meet everyone this summer! Hannah loves to do crafts play games, and have fun. When she isn’t working she likes to spend time with her friends and family.

Cathy Kawalec: This is Cathy’s first year with Fraser Parks and Recreation. She is currently working towards her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at Wayne State University. She also volunteers to teach catechism and work with the high school youth group at her church. When she is not busy with work or school, she enjoys reading, watching baseball, and spending time with her family.

Isabella Crook: Isabella Crook recently graduated from Fraser High School and will be attending Macomb Community College in the Fall. This is her second year working at Fraser Parks and Rec and cannot wait to see what this summer has in store! She always loved being involved in parks and rec programs and sports growing up. So it is her ultimate joy to share and help make more great memories with the children in my position as a coach now. In her spare time, she also enjoys reading, travelling, and helping others.

Emily Solecki is a senior at Fraser High School and at the Macomb Mathematics Science Technology Center. Growing up, she participated in the recreation tennis program, and the encouraging staff and fun environment inspired her love for the sport. Currently, she plays on the varsity tennis team at Fraser. This will be her third year coaching the tennis program, and she is hoping to spark an interest in possible future players and make the kids’ summers fun and enjoyable!

Ryan McCoy: Ryan McCoy is very excited to be working at Fraser Parks and Recreation this summer! This is Ryan’s third year working with Fraser Parks and Rec. He has been working the Tennis program for three years, but this year he is also working the playground program. He recently graduated from Wayne State with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. He works as an Intervention Specialist at Emerson Elementary. He also coaches Junior Varsity Tennis at Fraser High School. He is a Fraser graduate who played tennis, soccer, and basketball. Ryan is looking forward to a great summer full of activities and fun!

Isaac Plouff is a volunteer at Fraser Parks and Recreation. This is his first year and is very excited to teach young kids new skills. He really wants to help the kids to interact with one another to make new friends. He will be a freshman this year and loves sports and other outside activities. When he is not working he is playing baseball, basketball, or some other sport with his friends.

Jack Baranski is a student at Fraser High School. He is a Honor student who is also a part of National Honor Society and HOSA. He enjoys to play many sports for the high school such as baseball, basketball, soccer, football, and swim.
