Wii Games

Every Wednesday at 12:45 pm

Join the Wii video game craze! This game is great to help improve hand-eye coordination and movement, and can be done while seated. This drop-in program is lots of fun! Drop in fee applies.

Bingo

Every Thursday at 9:30 am

Come and try your luck at BINGO! Cost is $2 for 3 cards. Drop in fee applies.

18 + Euchre Tournament

First Friday of the Month, Sign in at 6:30 pm, Game at 7 pm

September 1, October 6, November 3, December 1

Come in and use your skills at the Euchre Tournament! Cost is $5 per person, with an optional $1 high game. Two 50/50 raffles available, water and coffee are provided.

Grandpals

Second Monday of the Month, 2:30 - 3

September 11, October 9, November 13, December 11

This event is held at the Fraser Public Library. This is a new program designed for seniors and young children (ages 3-6) to learn and grow together and become great companions! Each session will feature time to read, work together and craft. We ask that parents stay with children during the duration of this program. Transportation can be provided to seniors from the Activity Center to the Library.

Senior Coloring Hour

Every Other Monday at 11am

Coloring supplies will be provided for you to use. Reduce your stress and anxiety, improve your vision, focus and most of all have fun! Drop in fee applies.

Mondays by Appointment

Roberta Eggart has been a certified practitioner for 20 years. She uses pressure points on the hands, feet or back to massage, relax and promote good health. Call for an appointment (586) 445-9944

Seniors 55+ Pickleball

Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays at 10 am

 This fun program is co-ed drop-in and seniors from every community are welcome to play at the Activity Center. Don’t know how to play? Call the Center to set up a lesson! Drop-in fee: $1 members, $2 non-members.

Senior 55+ Volleyball

Mondays and Wednesdays at 10 am

Co-ed Drop-in volleyball for seniors! Don’t stay indoors during the winter, come to the center and get some exercise and socialize. Drop in fee; $1 members, $2 non-members.

Low Impact Aerobic Exercise Class

Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 am

Meet up with friends and exercise along with the Richard Simmons Silver Foxes videotape. This class features a low impact, aerobic workout for the beginner or intermediate exerciser. Each session is designed to increase flexibility, stamina and balance. Drop in fee applies.

Chair Yoga

Tuesdays at 11 am

Chair yoga focuses on increasing movement and using a chair assures that people of all abilities are able to participate. Call (586) 296-8483 for more information.  Cost for 6 sessions is $24 members, $30 non-members.

“Matter of Balance” Fitness Classes

Beginning Tuesday, October 17, 12:30-2:30 pm

A “Matter of Balance” class is an evidence based programs who want to learn more about fall prevention. Group exercises are conducted to improve strength, flexibility and endurance. This program is brought to you by McLaren Macomb, Area Agency on Aging 1-B and Macomb County Community Services Agency. Cost is $12 members, $14 non-members for 8 weeks of program.

Trips

Greektown Casino

October 2, December 4, 9:30 am – 3:00 pm

Cost is $18 for members, $20 for non-members for transportation and includes $20 in reward play! Check with the Center for more up to date information. Trip fills very quickly. Register at the Fraser Activity Center the Monday after the previous trip.

Restaurant Rovers

Last Tuesday of the Month, Van Departs at 11 am

Every month features a new restaurant. Cost is $4 for transportation; cost of lunch is on your own. Menus will be available at the Center upon request.

September Fraser Restaurant Crawl

Tuesday, September 12, Bus leaves at 11:30 am

Every month we explore more of our hometown! Come join us as we venture to Eclipse Burgers and the Clothes Exchange right here in Fraser! Cost is $5 Members, $6 Non-Members.

Dodge Park Farmers Market

Thursday, September 14th

Van Departs at 2:30pm and returns at 6:30 pm

Come join us for a health day at the Dodge Park Farmers market! Spend the afternoon shopping and talking with local market growers and artisans who provide only the freshest, juiciest, Michigan made products. A cooking demonstration will be held by Chef Thomas Lamar from 5-6 pm. Cost is $5 Members and $6 Non-Members.

Our September seminar will feature information on home safety for seniors and driving as we age. This is a FREE seminar, but you must pre-register so we can accommodate lunches. Register by Friday, October 15th at the Activity Center.

Senior Safety Presentation: Scams and Con Games

Join Fraser Public Safety Officer Lisa Pettyes as she explains different scam tactics criminals use and how to protect yourself from fraud. Lunch will be provided, but pre-registration is required. Register by Friday, September 15th at the Fraser Activity Center

MI Health Link Seminar

Wednesday, October 4th at 10 am

MI Health Link is a new health care option for Michigan adults, ages 21 or over, who are enrolled in both Medicare and Medicaid and live in Macomb county. MI Health Link offers a broad range of medical and behavioral health services, pharmacy, home and community-based services and nursing home care, all in a single program designed to meet individual needs. Learn about this program and see if it will help you!

Lunch and Learn FREE Seminar

Senior Fire Safety Presented by Fraser Public Safety

Join Fraser Public Safety Officer Lisa Pettyes in an in-depth conversation on fire safety and how to protect yourself. Lunch will be provided, but pre-registration is required. Register at the Activity Center by Friday, October 20th to reserve your spot for this FREE event.

Meadowbrook Music Theatre

“Shear Madness”

Saturday October 28th, Bus departs at 1 pm

This unique comedy whodunit takes place today in the “Shear Madness” hair salon and is chock full of up to the minute spontaneous humor. During the course of the action a murder is committed and the audience gets to spot the clues, question the suspects, and solve the funniest mystery in the annals of crime. Each show is different and shaped by the audience participation. The group will be stopping for dinner afterwards and lunch is on your own. Cost is $37 members, $40 non-members and includes transportation and ticket.

Taking Control of your Financial Health Sponsored by Wayne State University

Tuesday, October 31st and Tuesday November 7 from 11-1pm

Wayne State University presents a 2 day seminar on how to take control of your financial health! Topics include avoiding financial exploitation, planning for retirement, household finance and information on good credit practices. Register at the Activity Center. Cost is $4 for lunch each day and seminar materials.

Fraser Senior Ken Starring Art Exhibit

Monday, September 18th to Thursday, September 21st

We will be displaying the art of Fraser Senior Ken Starring at the Activity Center! Be sure to stop by and view his wonderful realism paintings. We’ll kick off the exhibit on Monday, September 18th at 10am with Coffee with the Artist, where we’ll have treats, coffee and tea, and he will talk about his art and his experiences as an artist. All are welcome to attend this FREE event!

Crock Pot Recipe Share

Monday, October 23rd 3pm

Have a favorite crock pot recipe? Make it and bring it to our recipe share! Cost is FREE but you must bring a pre-made crock pot dish for tasting. Participants will sample the dishes and swap recipes. Register at the Activity Center by Wednesday, October 18th.

Senior Harvest Party

Tuesday, November 14th, Doors at 11:30 am, Lunch at Noon

Join us as we welcome in the fall with great food and friends! We will have a harvest turkey lunch and games!  Sign up now! Cost is $9 members, $11 non-members.

Senior Christmas Party

Date TBD, Doors at 11, Lunch served at 11:30am

Celebrate the holidays with your friends at the Fraser Activity Center! We will have a full catered holiday meal complete with dessert and drink, a special gift for those in attendance and a lovely choir performance that is sure to put a smile on your face! Cost is $13 members, $16 non-members
