Drug Abuse Resistance Education

For over 20 years the Fraser Department of Public Safety has been teaching Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) to children in the Fraser Public School System. This unique partnership culminated in a successful program that has taught thousands of children to “say no to drugs” and become confident responsible young adults.

Keepin' it Real
In 2012, D.A.R.E. changed its entire curriculum to include lessons on bullying, peer pressure, effective communication, dealing with stress, and of course drug awareness. D.A.R.E.’s new curriculum is called Keepin’ it Real. It teaches the children how to handle situations in a positive manner and also the importance of helping others. The 2012-2013 school year was the first year this new curriculum is taught.

Public Safety Officer
Public Safety Officer Jack Simon is currently assigned to D.A.R.E. for the Fraser Department of Public Safety. Officer Simon teaches D.A.R.E. at four elementary schools in Fraser: Eisenhower, Edison, Emerson, and St. John.
