Flag Football Program (Grades 2-6)
Tuesday and Thursday Nights, Grades 2-3 @ 6 PM, Grades 4-6 @ 7:15 PM
New this year, this season of Flag Football will include 3 weeks of practicing and a 5 week regular season schedule. Players will be divided into teams and get ready for their games by developing skills and learning plays. All practices and games will take place at Steffens Park. This program will begin on September 5th. $65 Residents, $75 Non-Residents 

Simply Sports Ages K-1

Wednesdays, Starting September 27th @ 6 pm or 7pm at the Activity Center

This 7-week program is designed to have your child run off some energy with a variety of games! We’ll be playing 5 different sports and 50 minutes of fun! If both sessions do not fill we may combine both to one 6:30 session. Sign up with a friend to get $5 off each! Register by September 20th. $40 Residents/$50 Non-Residents for instruction and shirt.

Youth Bowling Leagues

Saturdays at 10 AM, Starting September 30th

Enjoy 10 sessions of youth bowling at Fraser Star Lanes! This program is parent coached. Teams require a minimum of 3 participants. To volunteer as a coach, please contact the Fraser Recreation Department at (586)-296-8483. Register with a friend to get $5 off each registration. Cost is $55 Residents and $65 Non-Residents. Price includes shirt, admission, shoe rental, ball usage, and award. 

AKC STAR Puppy Class 
Southern Michigan Obedience Training Club (SMOTC) offers this class for puppies purebred or mixed approximately 3 – 5 months of age. Help your new “Best Friend” develop the good habits it needs in order to become a valued member of your family. Socialization, introduction to obedience, and problem solving are covered in the classes. AKC STAR Puppy Certification is offered. 
Minors are invited to attend with a registered adult. Please bring puppy with buckle collar, leash, healthy treats and shot records (required) to first class. For more information see: www.akc.org/starpuppy/

Introduction to Dog Obedience Part 1
Southern Michigan Obedience Training Club (SMOTC) offers this foundation Introduction to Obedience class for all dogs who are at least 6 months old.  Learn to train your dog to heel (walk) on lead next to you, sit and down stay, come when called, stand – to become a more enjoyable member of the family, as well as encourage participation in obedience competition. This is a fast-moving class to teach you to teach your dog basic obedience. This class will require that you work with your dog 10-20 minutes a day during the duration of the classes for best results
DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG TO THE FIRST CLASS
You will need to bring these items the FIRST night of class:
1)    Your completed Application for Training and Health Certificate; plus bring ALL shot records.  
2)    Bait /Lure (treat) bag or fanny pack with SOFT TREATS.
3)    Have slip collar (a.k.a training collar), Martingale or prong/pinch collar with a 6 ft. leash. (leather leash recommended)
Minors over 12 years old are invited to train as long as a parent or guardian is registered for the class and stays during the class.

 Early Release/ Open Gyms

Specified early release days, from early release time to 4 pm.

Looking for something fun to do after an early release? Swing by the Activity Center to shoot some hoops! Students MUST show a Fraser school ID and pay $2 drop-in fee. Middle School Dates: 9/19, 10/17, 11/15, 12/14, 1/10

High School Dates: 9/29, 10/31, 11/16, 1/24, 1/25, 1/26

Basketball Skills Camp

October 16th – 19th Location TBD

Grades 1-4 at 6 pm, Grades 5-8 at 7:30 pm

This is a great opportunity to get ready for basketball season by improving skills such as passing, shooting, ball-handling, and defense by current and former Fraser High School Varsity Basketball players. Parents are advised to drop their child off and pick them up at the end of the program, as seating is limited. Cost $30 resident, $40 non-resident. Register by October 6th.

 

Basketball Leagues for Grades 4-8

Girls -OR- Boys Leagues for Grades 4-5, 6, 7-8

Practices begin in December

Games on Saturdays beginning in January 2018

This program is based on separate girls and boys leagues according to grade. Sign up with a friend to be on the same team. All leagues are volunteer coached. Program will consist of 8 games and practices determined by coach. Students on a Middle School or High School team are ineligible to play. Cost is $60 resident/$70 non-resident. Register by December 1st.  Would you like to coach? Call or stop into the Activity Center to leave your information for the Director! Parent volunteers needed!!

Winter Basketball Clinic K-1, 2-3 Grade

Wednesdays at the Fraser Activity Center beginning January 10th 2018

Grades K-1 at 6pm grades 2-3 at 7 pm

Participants will have a ball learning basketball skills and staying active! Program will be divided between practices, drills and scrimmages. Cost includes shirt and 6 weeks of play. Residents $55 / Non-Residents $65


Winter Break Camp

Wednesday Dec 27-29; Tuesday, January 2-5 from 8am-5pm

Elementary age kids can have some fun at our winter break camp at the Activity Center! We’ll have games, crafts and activities each day. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch, and outside winter gear.  Cost is $25 a day resident, $30 a day non-resident. Sign up with a friend and you’ll each receive $5 off! Register by Friday, December 8th.
