Summer Taxes
Mailed July 1st
Deadline September 14th

Summer taxes are due (without penalty if paid in full) on or before September 14th of the current tax year.  A 3% penalty will be applied on September 15th. 

Deferral of Summer Taxes
Homeowners can delay paying summer taxes until February 28th of the next succeeding year if the total household income is $40,000 or less (as shown on the Michigan Homestead Property tax return, line 30) as long as the taxpayer can be classified as one of the following:
  • Blind
  • Eligible Serviceperson, Eligible Veteran, Eligible Widow, or Widower
  • Paraplegic, Quadriplegic
  • Senior Citizen (age 62 or older)
  • Totally and Permanently Disabled

Taxpayers may claim a deferment by filing an application for deferment of summer taxes. A deferral form is available at the Finance Department. Taxpayers eligible for deferral must file an Application for Deferment on or before September 15th. A deferment form application must be completed for each year you would like your taxes deferred.

Winter Taxes
Mailed December 1st
Deadline February 28th
Winter taxes are due on or before February 28th of the next succeeding year. 

Delinquent Taxes (Summer and Winter on March 1st)
Delinquent taxes are paid to the Macomb County Treasurer starting March 1st with additional interest and penalties.
